Prometheus Integration ​

PlatOps AI can connect to the prometheus instance running on your cluster and provide you with a comprehensive view of your metrics.

Prerequisites ​

  • A Kubernetes cluster with Prometheus installed
  • The PlatOps AI agent installed in the cluster (see Kubernetes integration)

To set up a playground cluster with Prometheus, see the k8s-agent repository.

Connecting the agent to your account ​

Visit the Tools page and navigate to the Observability section. Click on the connect button for the Prometheus tool.

In the dialog that appears,

  • Enter the Service Name of the Prometheus instance (with 'svc/' prefix)
  • Enter the Port of the Prometheus instance
  • Add Additional Notes to give the AI more context about your metrics

And click on the save button.

Using the Prometheus tool ​

Once connected, you can interact with your Prometheus instance through natural language commands in the chat interface.

With access to your metrics, PlatOps AI can assist you with various observability tasks including metric visualization, trend analysis, and performance monitoring.
